THROUGH WORD 


Word as Movement (WAM) is a somatic movement practice that unlocks the power of words to transform the body and mind.The body is a vast resource for each of us - it contains the innate ability to heal, to create, and to share. WAM is a mind-body process that helps to unravel the old so that we can embrace the new through word, movement, and a connection to the natural world. We approach the body through authentic movement exercises, grounding practices, elemental meditation, and writing prompts.This experience creates a container for each person to be witnessed in their process of expression, healing, and rebirth. It offers space for us to listen to the subtle language of our body and the earth– the effects can be deeply therapeutic.

The mission of each class is for each participant to discover new connections through sensory experience, to understand their story/lineage through word(s), and to establish a stronger relationship to the self and nature.

Through this inquiry each person can walk away with clarity, direction, and peace in their pursuit of sharing their gifts with community and the world. When we move it we can sense it, we can release it, and we can overcome it.
